With a mixed methods approach, this study explores the strategic, communication, and ethical dimensions of transformative leadership practices in response to heated political dynamics. Quantitative findings show a strong correlation (R = 0.870) between political instability and changes in leadership styles, which are characterized by increased use of populist and authoritarian approaches. Qualitative data revealed public skepticism of short-term policies and political imagery through social media. Theoretically, the study enriched the literature by incorporating a variety of leadership theories—transformational, transactional, strategic, and ethical—in local contexts. In practical terms, the results of the study confirm the importance of transparency, consistency, and orientation to long-term well-being as the main foundation of effective leadership. The study also highlights the importance of critical public perception and the need for leaders to transcend electoral interests for sustainable development.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Musmulyadi Musmulyadi, Fahmiah Akilah, Nining Artianasari, Jalihah Md Shahhttps://lp2msasbabel.ac.id/jurnal/maw/article/view/5400CULTIVATING ISLAMIC EDUCATIONAL VALUES IN STREET CHILDREN THROUGH THE RUMAH DEDIKASI INDONESIA (KRDI) COMMUNITY IN MAKASSAR2025-10-15T21:11:23+07:00Besse Ruhayabesse.ruhaya@uin-alauddin.ac.idSyarifuddin Idrissyarifuddinidris@iainsasbabel.ac.idAndi Baso DarussalamAndibasodarussalam@gmail.comMuhammad Muhaiminmuhammadmuhaimin1912@gmail.com
This study examines the instillation of Islamic educational values by the Indonesian Dedication House Community (KRDI) among street children in Makassar City. The main focus of this study is the form of instillation, the methods used, and the obstacles faced by the community in implementing non-formal education programs for street children. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive and phenomenological methods. Primary data were obtained from the General Chairperson of KRDI, mentors, volunteer teachers, and street children, while secondary data consisted of documents and reports related to KRDI activities. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions with validity tests using data triangulation. The results of the study indicate that KRDI plays a strategic role in fostering street children through religious education, character education, and the development of interests and talents. Obstacles that arise include limited teaching staff, the diverse character backgrounds of street children, and lack of support from parents. The implications of this study highlight that Islamic value-based education models can serve as alternative solutions for non-formal education among marginalized urban groups.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Besse Ruhaya, Syarifuddin Idris, Andi Baso Darussalam, Muhammad Muhaiminhttps://lp2msasbabel.ac.id/jurnal/maw/article/view/5466A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE RELIGIOUS MODERATION POLICY IN ISLAMIC EDUCATION: RESISTANCE AND SYMBOLIC VIOLENCE IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS2025-10-18T00:59:57+07:00Rikhlatul Ilmiahrikhlatulilmiah@uinsatu.ac.idKadi Kadikadizakaria@iainkediri.ac.id
This study aims to critically examine the politics behind the government's policy on religious moderation within the context of Islamic religious education. Initially intended as a response to the rise of radicalism in Islamic religious education in Indonesia, the policy has instead transformed into another form of radicalism, driven by grassroots fanaticism and the rigid implementation of religious moderation by government institutions—particularly the Ministry of Religious Affairs. These institutions tend to eliminate ideas deemed radical or threatening to state stability without providing space for dialogue or seeking common ground. Using a qualitative approach through a literature review method, this study finds that the infiltration of religious moderation into the Islamic education curriculum is a political strategy by the state to hegemonize the Muslim community and suppress groups considered disruptive to national political stability. However, this effort has triggered resistance and symbolic violence among the public and educational institutions. The findings imply the urgent need for the government to reform the administration of Islamic religious education to ensure that religious moderation does not become a tool of symbolic violence: (1) the government must detach its political interests from religious education, (2) implement inclusive Islamic education across different schools of thought (madhhab) to foster a strong sense of moderation among students, and (3) minimize symbolic violence in religious education, as it contradicts the very values of religious moderation itself.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Rikhlatul Ilmiah, Kadi Kadihttps://lp2msasbabel.ac.id/jurnal/maw/article/view/5396STRENGTHENING RELIGIOUS HARMONY THROUGH COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION AND LOCAL WISDOM IN TARAKAN CITY2025-10-20T01:21:27+07:00Muhammad Raisrais-mandar@stainmajene.ac.idSyarifuddin Syarifuddinsyarifuddinamir784@gmail.comAndi Hijaz Mukhtarijazmukhtar@gmail.com
In the past five years, the Religious Harmony Index in North Kalimantan Province has shown a consistently high level of achievement, remaining above the national average. In 2021, the index recorded a score of 75.63, surpassing the national average of 72.39. This study seeks to explore the key factors behind this sustained harmony, focusing on how social, cultural, and institutional dynamics contribute to the province’s strong interreligious relations. Employing a qualitative research approach, the study was conducted in Tarakan City—a heterogeneous urban setting considered representative for examining the drivers of religious harmony in the region. The data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The findings reveal that one of the primary factors contributing to the high Religious Harmony Index in Tarakan is the active role of the Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB) or the Interfaith Harmony Forum. Through consistent dialogue and coordination among religious leaders, FKUB plays a strategic role in maintaining social cohesion and resolving emerging issues at the grassroots level before they escalate publicly. The forum also identifies potential sources of intolerance and applies cultural approaches in mediating community conflicts, such as disputes related to the establishment of houses of worship. Another significant factor is the preservation of local wisdom among the Tidung ethnic community, particularly the values embodied in tenguyun—a tradition that emphasizes cooperation, mutual assistance, and communal solidarity. These cultural principles extend to environmental stewardship, reflected in the Tidung people’s moral responsibility to protect natural ecosystems such as mangrove forests. Overall, this study underscores that cultural communication and local wisdom function as vital socio-cultural capital that reinforce institutional efforts to sustain religious harmony. These findings highlight the importance of integrating local cultural values into broader peacebuilding frameworks to strengthen interfaith relations in plural societies .
2025-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Muhammad Rais, Syarifuddin, Andi Hijaz Mukhtarhttps://lp2msasbabel.ac.id/jurnal/maw/article/view/5641INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IN THE ACADEMIC PRACTICES OF ISLAMIC HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS2025-10-20T01:55:11+07:00Ria Hayatunnur Taqwayayataqwa@gmail.comRaziki Waldan zikysmart@gmail.comPilga Ayong Sari filgaayongsari@gmail.com
This study examines the role of interpersonal communication and digital competence in the completion of final projects among students at IAIN Pontianak. The background of this study lies in the increasing challenges in completing final projects due to limited effective communication with academic advisors and insufficient digital skills. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observations, and documentation involving 15 students and 5 academic advisors. The findings reveal that intensive interpersonal communication and adequate digital competence support the timely completion of final projects. However, some students face technological limitations and communication barriers that hinder progress. The contribution of this study lies in proposing an integrated framework of interpersonal communication and digital competence as a holistic approach in academic supervision, while also highlighting the psychosocial dimension of student mental well-being. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of developing technology-based academic supervision policies and providing psychological support in Islamic higher education to enhance the quality of final project completion.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ria Hayatunnur Taqwa https://lp2msasbabel.ac.id/jurnal/maw/article/view/4769ANALYSIS OF THE ROLE OF FAMILY DA'WAH IN BUILDING CHILDREN'S RESILIENCE TO THE INFLUENCE OF ONLINE GAMBLING2024-12-30T02:11:16+07:00Delfiya Duwita Putridelfiyaduwitaputri03@gmail.comIvan Sunatasunataivan@gmail.com
The rise of online gambling has become a serious issue in Indonesia, particularly concerning its impact on children. This phenomenon raises deep concerns about the negative effects it may have on their development and well-being. In this context, the role of family preaching (dakwah) is crucial in strengthening children's resilience against the negative influences of online gambling. This research aims to analyze how family preaching can contribute to building resilience in children against the risks of online gambling. To achieve this objective, the study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach and utilizes a library research method, hoping to provide an in-depth understanding of the role of family preaching in protecting children from the negative impacts of online gambling, as well as to identify effective preaching strategies. This involves gathering relevant information or scholarly works such as books, journal articles, internet articles, websites, and YouTube videos. The results indicate that there are several roles of family preaching in shaping children's resilience against online gambling: First, parents act as pioneers by teaching religious values; Second, as protectors from dangers such as online gambling; Third, as advisors by respecting children's viewpoints; Fourth, as role models in responsibility and morality; Fifth, by implementing clear rules; and Sixth, through balanced supervision to monitor children's behavior. Parents must also balance freedom and support to foster children's development.
2024-12-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Delfiya Duwita Putri, Ivan Sunatahttps://lp2msasbabel.ac.id/jurnal/maw/article/view/5038THE ROLE OF ISLAMIC SOCIAL FINANCE IN THE PREPARATION OF MUBALLIGH CADRES IN PESANTREN2024-12-30T02:11:15+07:00Muhammad Choirinmuhammad.choirin@umj.ac.idDion Saputra Arbidionsaputra2017@mail.ugm.ac.idAsep Supyadillahasep.supyadillah@umj.ac.idFakhrul Adabi Abdul Kadirfakhruladabi@um.edu.my
This paper investigates the nexus between Islamic social finance and pesantren, focusing on its implications for the preparation of muballigh cadres. The research uses a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. A total of 392 students from ten Islamic religious universities across Indonesia took part in the study. The findings revealed that social interaction and family support had a significant impact on students' entrepreneurial intentions, whereas career orientation did not have a notable effect. The introduction of the MBKM curriculum greatly boosts students' entrepreneurial intentions. These results provide both theoretical insights and practical guidance for promoting entrepreneurship in Islamic religious universities. They highlight the importance of MBKM policies, reinforced by social factors such as social interaction and family support, in nurturing students' entrepreneurial spirit. The Palestinian care action carried out by influencers has utilized social media as a means of social interaction. Not a few social communities have made an invitation to donate to care for Palestine, boycott Israel or other humanitarian actions as a form of support for Palestine by gathering the attention of their followers on social media. However, not all influencers have optimized digital space specifically for calls for goodness like da'wah content. This study aims to see how the @bangonim account displays its experiences in humanitarian action in Palestine. Using a descriptive qualitative methodology, researchers analyzed the content of @bangonim posts for the period October - December 2023 which tell of its role in various humanitarian actions in Palestine. Researchers focused on the moral and worship content displayed by @bangonim in its posts in the form of an invitation to care for Palestine. For moral posts, researchers found two main themes, namely caring for orphans and honoring elders. The two themes of the posts displayed convey the importance of providing moral and material support to children and parents in Palestine who have lost their families with humanitarian assistance. On the theme of worship, researchers found 3 contents of posts displayed by @bangonim, namely giving alms, maintaining prayer and loving the Qur'an. In this worship theme post, @bangonim tries to invite followers that it is included in worship activities when a Muslim cares about the condition of Palestine. As a humanitarian influencer, @bangonim tries to convey an invitation to goodness by including existing facts and realities, accompanied by examples of his social activities as a form of real humanitarian support.
